Comprehensive Intake Process

Ages 3 to 12

After the initial phone consultation, we will set up a parent meeting (either in person or online) where the therapist will gather all the developmental, social and medical history. The more information the therapist has, the more equipped she will be to engage your child and meet their needs.

If your child is struggling at school, the therapist may recommend a school observation to gain insight and understanding into behaviors/challenges at school.

To begin the initial assessment, the therapist will conduct a family session (this may involve two family sessions if the child lives in two homes). This will be followed by one to two individual sessions for the child.

A parent feedback meeting (in person or via webcam) will conclude the assessment process. The therapist will provide feedback about observations, recommendations for ongoing services and parent coaching.
